Overview
A teaching hospital with 325 beds and a Level II Trauma and Emergency Center started with a two-room exclusive surgical simulation center and then expanded its space to include a mock operating room, robotic sim/patient room, and a conference room with livestream OR observation technologies.
This Integrated Center for Education served over 8,500 healthcare learners in 2017, including doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, allied health professionals, EMT/EMS, and flight and helicopter crew, in addition to residents and medical students, as well as high school students participating in the hospital’s “Community Education” program. It was a lot to manage.
